Ontario, CANADA :: Tama Lynn & Amanda :: Spark Of My Heart // Real LGBTQ Engagement

:: Spark Of My Heart::

Photographed & Submitted by :: {MRSter Approved} Oren & Jones Photography

Local to Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada, these two lovely ladies met online and fell in love in 2007. There was an instant spark, and they’ve have been absolutely inseparable ever since.

With a love for family, friends, and baseball, there’s never a dull moment.

In May of 2015, Tama Lynn, in front of family and friends, played a short video she had put together about their relationship. Chronicling their first date, family vacations, their dog Lacey and cat Sebastian. She then got down on one knee and presented Amanda with a ring. A ring she had specially made out of Ammonite; a rare Canadian gem which radiates a brilliant rainbow.

She was thrilled when she heard Amanda say ‘yes!’

Thinking back to this beautiful wedding at Jasper Park Lodge makes my heart happy. You couldn’t ask for a more perfect wedding day to photograph: two beautiful brides, mountain landscape and soooo much love in the air!

Katherine and Mandi’s relaxed wedding day brought together rustic DIY elements and the simple elegance of the mountains. They used the setting of the Rockies as their inspiration for the decor as they both have a love for the outdoors and often visit Jasper on vacation.

The Brides had this to say: “We both agree that our favourite moments were when Mandi saw me walking towards her and me seeing Mandi for the first time walking down to her. Then us walking out to James Brown as wives and pretty much the whole day!”

From Kirk (Groom):

We wanted to have a small wedding and we were really in love with the idea of having an intimate venue that made us feel cozy and “close” to the people we’d invited. The people we invited were those that were most close to us and that had an impact on us as a couple. The people that really supported and helped us.

We wanted a day that wasn’t only about celebrating our wedding, but also thanking the people we love for being a part of our lives together. We also liked the idea of having a more rustic feeling event and wanted a simple day in terms of venue. That’s what really led us to the Fort. I had been to a wedding there many years before and have always had it at the back of my mind as a venue. In the end it worked perfectly and we had an amazing day surrounded by our closest friends and family.

We met with Julien and Emmett on one of those infamous winter Montreal days. That is to say it was as harsh and cold as it was superbly beautiful in a way that only Montreal can do justice to.

Needless to say, Julien and Emmett are adorable and it hardly took any time for us all to forget the cold. We wandered around the streets of Montreal‘s Old Port, a city which has become an important part of their relationship; Julien is from France, and Emmett from Canada, both finding a happy medium, and most importantly, each other in Montreal.

We had a fantastic time with these two, and could not have asked for a more lovely photo session!

Parin & Sandro :: An Intimate Engagement :: Toronto, Canada // Real LGBT Engagement

:: An Intimate Engagement ::

Submitted by :: Stephen James Kerr of Julius & James

Parin and Sandro are two American educators who met in San Francisco, and who moved to Toronto to pursue their academic work.

Their idea for a great engagement shoot was to simply capture them connecting at their cute century home in Toronto’s hip Dundas St. West neighbourhood, and in the nearby Trinity Bellwoods Park. And it was a great idea.

We shot them starting at home, and captured some of the details that surround them including their maturing vegetable and fruit garden. We then walked out together via Dundas and Ossington to Trinity Bellwoods Park, their favourite place to relax and watch the world go by.

Parin and Sandro’s deep soul connection shines through in these intimate photos. We get a little window into a warm and caring relationship, as they share the simple joys of facing daily life together. Isn’t that what marriage is all about?
