Snohomish, WA :: A Bohemian Glam Wedding // Styled Shoot

:: A Bohemian Glam Wedding ::

Submitted & Photographed by :: GSquared Weddings

The Lookout Lodge is an amazing wooded venue nestled deep in Snohomish, in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. We chose to play off of the surroundings and create something different from the normal rustic country inspired wedding. The theme for this styled shoot was ‘A Bohemian Glam Wedding’.

We especially love the rich tones, unusual bouquet, and the fact that it rained, on and off, throughout the shoot. The vendors involved executed the vision impeccably.

Stephanie & Jessica shared their wedding vows in February, amongst their closest family and friends. The venue they chose for their big day was Noahs Event Venue in Chandler, Arizona. They decorated the event center with their favorite books, and guests were given coloring book marks to doodle on! The dessert table was filled with delicious cupcakes and their cheescake wedding cake that had the cutest little toppers!

Their love for each other is truly special.

Rachel and Laura had a charming St. Paul, Minnesota wedding that took place in Irvine Park, and the reception followed across the street at the Science Museum of Minnesota.

They incorporated all things they love in to their special day, which included; Star Wars, Jurassic Park, and Harry Potter! All of the details they put into their wedding complimented the locations perfectly, and signified their relationship.

It was a perfect day for the two of them, and it felt as if you had just entered the world that they share together. Beautiful.

Pyrénées-Orientales, FRANCE :: Benjamin & Daniel :: Charming Château In France // Real LGBTQ Wedding

:: Charming Château In France ::

Photographed by :: Lemon Three Photo

After more than 8 years of a long-distance relationship; Daniel living in London, UK and Benjamin in Perpignan, France, we decided to tie the knot in the south of France, close to Benjamin’s home town. The wedding was the coming together of both of our families.

The organisation of the wedding was challenging as Daniel was still living in the UK, and Benjamin in France. This meant that precious weekends were spent meeting suppliers, food tasting, and organizing, well… everything. The rest was done via Skype – and thank goodness for our Wedding Planner, Sarah, who managed this with ease! Another challenge we faced was ensuring that both our English and French families felt at ease. To do this, we made sure that all elements and written communication were done in both languages.

The moment we saw Château Valmy, we knew this was the place we wanted to get married. The castle is set in the beautiful region of the Pyrénées-Orientales; with stunning views of the Mediterranean sea on one side, and the Pyrenees mountains on the other. The castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens and its own vineyard.

With the grand setting we wanted the wedding to reflect this as well. We opted for a Black Tie dress code (which was pretty unusual for our French guests who are not so used to Black Tie events). Preparations took part in the castle itself. The wedding ceremony took place in two parts; the morning at the town hall for the official signing of the papers, and then at 4.30pm in the afternoon in the gardens of the castle. The decor was simple and elegant with white chairs and a large arch of Giposofilia. Bridesmaids bouquets and the groom’s button holes were a mixture of deep red roses and Calla Lily. The ceremony was conducted by the mayor of a local town (the same one from the morning), who is a close family friend. Readings from our nearest and dearest, were mixed between English and French so all guests could understand.

The cocktail reception followed in the castle’s vineyard with magnificent views of the vineyard and the sea, with a jazz band playing softly in the background. Wines were from the vineyard and 16 different canapes were served with chef stations scattered in the garden. The evening dinner then followed indoors. Decoration was elegant and understated, with emphasis put on lighting and candles, with a simple Gipsofilia centerpiece.

Speeches from  Benjamin’s brother and Daniel’s father then led to the champagne toast, entrance of the croque en bouche tower, and then an evening with an open bar and DJ from Ibiza… We partied until 6am!

Concord, NORTH CAROLINA :: Little Red Riding Hood & The Huntsman // Justin & Bridgit // Real Wedding

:: Little Red Riding Hood & The Huntsman ::

Submitted and Photographed by :: Ellen of Due West Photography

Both Justin and Bridgit are incredibly creative people, and I knew their wedding was going to be beautiful and unique to their personalities. I love weddings where you can see the love, excitement and effort that the couple have poured into it, and this was the most personalized wedding I’ve ever seen.

They went with a Little Red Riding Hood and the Huntsman theme, and it was beyond anything I could have imagined! The venue was perfect (cozy and in the middle of the woods) and the decorations were out of a fairy tale. This wedding was an accumulation of an absolutely giddy couple who were delighted about their wedding, two incredible families and some seriously amazing bridesmaids and groomsmen who really took the day to the next level.

Everything seemed to cooperate with this wedding, even the weather; the rain held off just long enough for the ceremony and couple shots, and the woods were vibrant green and smelled incredible from the storm the day before. It cooled the temperature down perfectly on what would have otherwise been a typical hot and muggy North Carolina September day. And most importantly, it could not have been more obvious how happy everyone was for Justin and Bridgit. This was one of those weddings that reminds me why I do this, and why this is one of the best jobs in the world.

If you’re thinking this beautiful couple look familiar, you may have spotted their ‘Roadtrip Romance’ engagement shoot on our blog before! Take a peek here.

Jamul, CALIFORNIA :: Freedom To Love // Real LGBT Wedding

:: Freedom To Love ::

Submitted and Photographed by :: Creative Weddings by Amy

It doesn’t rain in southern California often (especially in the past few years), but when it does – we embrace it as best we know how.

We spent several months working on the details for the Freedom to Love photo shoot and when the gray skies and rain clouds rolled in, it surprisingly gave us an element of enchantment that we weren’t expecting.

See how these two brides embraced not only the weather this day, but each other. You’ll also see a beautifully denim decorated sweetheart table, featuring specialty flatware, a unique ladder alter with love and touch in every detail and a one of a kind dress from Archive Bridal.

From Kirk (Groom):

We wanted to have a small wedding and we were really in love with the idea of having an intimate venue that made us feel cozy and “close” to the people we’d invited. The people we invited were those that were most close to us and that had an impact on us as a couple. The people that really supported and helped us.

We wanted a day that wasn’t only about celebrating our wedding, but also thanking the people we love for being a part of our lives together. We also liked the idea of having a more rustic feeling event and wanted a simple day in terms of venue. That’s what really led us to the Fort. I had been to a wedding there many years before and have always had it at the back of my mind as a venue. In the end it worked perfectly and we had an amazing day surrounded by our closest friends and family.

Hotel Palomar LGBTQ Wedding Winners :: Gwen and Ronda :: Loving Gratitude // Real LGBT Wedding

:: Loving Gratitude ::

Same Day Edit provided by MRSter ApprovedSerendipity Cinematography

This one is pretty awesome and we couldn’t be more proud to have been a part of it. MRSter partnered with Hotel Palomar Phoenix to produce a luxury free wedding for a same sex couple… Gwen and Ronda were the lucky winners after they received the highest number of votes for the video of their love story! Over 18,000 total collected votes and they were to be the chosen couple! With the help of many awesome vendors we made this day happen for them!

With only 2 months to put this together wedding planner Patrice Klaum of MRSter Approved – Celebrations by Amy Bacon, spilled the beans and gave this awesome summary of the day with all the details…

When MRSter asked me to be the planner for the Wedding Giveaway with Hotel Palomar, I never expected the effect it would have on me but after meeting Gwen and Ronda for the first time (and getting to know each other for 3+ hours over drinks and laughs), I knew this wasn’t going to be just another wedding day.

I remember Gwen and Ronda speaking to how blessed they felt to have won and to get such a gift from not only the vendors who donated their services (list below) but by the people who cared enough to vote for them as well. A plethora of words can be used to describe Gwen and Ronda Bailey’s wedding but one phrase sums them all up perfectly: LOVING GRATITUDE. I can’t recall a single moment in the whole process when everyone involved wasn’t appreciative of the opportunity to be a part of such a special day, myself included.

Even though they were gifted each portion of the day, Gwen and Ronda were still treated like true clients (as they were) by all involved.

Gwen and Ronda lovingly refer to themselves as ‘celesbians’ from all of the attention they have received from the giveaway and they truly had a celesbian wedding for the record books. Hotel Palomar was a flurry of activity all weekend long as the team worked to bring Gwen and Ronda’s modern desert design come to life. As the brides and their wedding party were pampered in a suite with makeup, hair and video interviews, downstairs linens were being thrown and succulents were being placed throughout to tie all of the spaces together.

A picture from the brides’ home served as the color inspiration for the day with shades of Sedona red and forest green that softened Hotel Palomar’s modern edge with some organic flair.

The rooftop Lustre Lounge served as the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding with 130 family and friends to give their blessing as Gwen and Ronda began their marriage together. Happy tears were shed during their self-written vows and laughs erupted as the group realized the Suns pre-game festivities nearby were blasting “White Wedding.” Coincidence? We think not!

Every so often a wedding will have crashers but when we started catching crashers who not only wanted to join the party but meet the brides they had “been following on Facebook for weeks,” then we knew it was a special night. The ladies even grabbed a picture with a Phoenix Mercury star as they did their romantic photos around downtown Phoenix. Celesbian couple Gwonda’s night was a star-studded affair without even trying.

Normally one of the ultimate rules to a wedding is ‘Don’t stop the party if everyone is dancing’ but I took the liberty of breaking this rule for Gwen and Ronda. Why? Because as I was scanning the room to see how everyone was doing, the TV above the bar caught my eye: the brides were on the 10 o’clock news! During dinner Gwen and Ronda were interviewed by Phoenix Channel 12 News about their experience with this wedding, including the reactions they received when campaigning to win. Gwen responded with, “We spoke with thousands of people nightly. In bars, on the streets, at restaurants, and at work. Not one single person said what we were doing was ‘wrong’ or that they didn’t want to be involved. No one cared about the same sex part or that we are two women getting married. They only cared about the love and about supporting our love.” Love is love, no matter who it is between and the Phoenix wedding market is embracing this with a force that can move mountains.

Loving Gratitude. Celesbians. Modern Desert Design. Love is Love.

Scottsdale, ARIZONA :: Urban Love at Bentley Gallery // Real LGBT Wedding

:: Urban Love at Bentley Gallery ::

Submitted by :: Melissa Lewis of Table Tops Etc.

Even after 3 years, the wedding of Marti Hoffer and Jessica Conaway on Sunday 22nd 2012 still stands out in my mind. One, because it was such a fun wedding not only to create flowers for, but also to attend as a guest. Secondly, it was such a moving ceremony. The ceremony took place at Shadow Rock Church with these floor to ceiling windows that only added to the spirituality of the entire ceremony. Marti and Jessica both carried these gorgeous bouquets full of Schwartzwalder calla lilies and Black Magic roses, which really popped against their white attire. After a very sweet ceremony, guests moved to the Bentley Gallery for a crazy reception. The couple wanted an interesting table set, so we combined rectangular Roman tables, circular tables, and round tables to create a large variety. The tables were full of candles really setting a beautiful ambiance with the gallery. The escort cards were hung on weighted ribbon tailings suspended from the ceiling with place cards attached to them, which ended up look like a really cool art installation that complimented the venue and the eclectic art on the walls. A coffee food truck was also brought into the venue and we made a little donut station right next to it.

Spiritual. Ambiance. Eclectic.
